Was There One ‘Gibbs’ Moment That Could Have Changed the Course of NCIS Forever?
The debut episode of “NCIS,” titled “Yankee White,” originally aired in September 2003, launching the hit series. It followed NCIS Special Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo as they investigated the d3ath of a Naval Commander on Air Force One.
The episode featured a tense moment where Gibbs confronted a terr0rist on the plane, miraculously avoiding bullets and saving the day. While this scene showcased Gibbs’ bravery and marksmanship, it might not have been the most realistic portrayal.
Fans have also pointed out a continuity issue in the pilot episode concerning Gibbs and his friend Tobias Fornell. In later episodes, it’s revealed that Fornell is one of Gibbs’ closest pals, but their interaction on Air Force One in the pilot suggests they are meeting for the first time. However, given the show’s evolving storylines and character relationships over the years, this discrepancy can be forgiven.
In the end, these minor hiccups in the pilot episode didn’t deter fans from falling in love with “NCIS” and its beloved characters.
