Are There Gibbs, Squibs, and Big Old Fibs on NCIS?

Longtime NCIS viewers were already familiar with Gibbs’ marital history and the tragic death of his first wife, Shannon, in the early ’90s. Shannon and their daughter, Kelly, were on their way to testify against a ruthless drug dealer, Pedro Hernandez, when a federal agent driving their car was shot by Hernandez, resulting in their deaths.

In a quest for revenge, Gibbs took matters into his own hands, going on a vigilante mission to track down and kill Hernandez. He left behind enough evidence to link him to the murder, but the case was closed without charges, thanks to some questionable government collaboration.

Gibbs has always been a man of few words, following the principle that “the best way to keep a secret is to keep it to yourself.” However, in NCIS season 16, he shared this dark chapter of his past with his colleagues, revealing his vigilante actions in Mexico. While he has yet to face any consequences for his actions, this revelation offers the potential for more intriguing stories in the world of NCIS.
