“The Ultimate Villain: Unmasking the Shocking Secret of Why Port-To-Port Killer Jonas Cobb Is the Most Underrated Foe in NCIS History!”

Jonas Cobb, also known as the port-to-port killer, is an underrated villain the NCIS team faced, and here’s why he stands out. NCIS had its beginnings as a backdoor pilot on the TV show JAG, with Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and DiNozzo making guest appearances to investigate a case. While it took a bit of time to build its audience, NCIS eventually became one of the most popular and long-running series, spanning seventeen seasons so far.

The show’s success led to the creation of spinoffs, such as NCIS: Los Angeles, starring Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J, which also garnered instant popularity and began its eleventh season in 2019. The NCIS franchise expanded further with NCIS: New Orleans, starring Scott Bakula, and crossed over with various other shows, including Hawaii Five-O, Scorpion, and MacGyver.

Throughout NCIS’s history, the team has encountered a range of memorable villains, including Harper Dearing, Saleem Ulman, and Ali Haswari, who notably killed Agent Caitlin Todd in season 2 and was Ziva’s half-brother. However, one villain who doesn’t often get the recognition he deserves is Jonas Cobb, known as the port-to-port killer.

Jonas Cobb made his appearance in NCIS during season 8, portrayed by Kerr Smith (known for Final Destination). His backstory involves being a sailor recruited by the CIA for an operation called “Frankenstein.” This operation aimed to create assassins through behavioral modification, enabling them to remain composed and calm even in high-stress situations. Unfortunately, it backfired, turning Cobb into a serial killer who targeted enlisted men worldwide, including locations in Spain and Japan.

What set Jonas Cobb apart as a unique villain was his ability to outmaneuver Gibbs and the team, always staying a step ahead. He had a penchant for the dramatic, as seen when he delivered an eyeball to DiNozzo inside an ice cube in his drink. Cobb was a master of infiltration and was responsible for the death of Gibbs’ friend and mentor, Mike Franks. Throughout his arc, he killed, wounded, and kidnapped several other agents, including Ziva, before meeting his end when he was shot and killed in the season 8 finale, “Pyramid.”

Kerr Smith’s portrayal of Jonas Cobb only spanned two episodes of NCIS, but he left a lasting impression as a cunning and sociopathic serial killer, making him a unique addition to the show’s rogues’ gallery.
