“Unbelievable Beginnings: The Secret Past of NCIS Star Emily Wickersham – How Her Career Soared from ‘The Sopranos’ as a Youngster!”
Emily Wickersham, best known for her role in NCIS, initially gained recognition through her appearances on the iconic TV series The Sopranos.
While the 39-year-old actress became a prominent figure in the CBS police procedural starting in season 11, her journey in the world of acting began earlier.
Before joining the NCIS team and sparking an on-screen romance with Agent Nick Torres (portrayed by Wilmer Valderrama), Wickersham made her acting debut in a sketch show on Late Show with David Letterman in 2006. The following year, she landed a role in Gardener of Eden.
However, it was her appearances in a few episodes of HBO’s acclaimed series, The Sopranos, that truly brought her attention in Hollywood. In The Sopranos, she portrayed the character Rhiannon Flammer.
Rhiannon was depicted as a friend of Anthony “AJ” Soprano (played by Robert Iler), who was initially dating one of AJ’s friends, Hernan O’Brien (played by Vincent Piazza).
The story took an intriguing turn when AJ, after a suicide attempt, found himself in a psychiatric hospital. Rhiannon was there due to her dietary issues, and their shared experience in the hospital brought them closer. Their relationship grew more intimate when they parked up in the woods one day.
However, an unexpected twist occurred as the car’s catalytic converter overheated, leading to a fire and forcing AJ and Rhiannon to evacuate the vehicle. They could only watch in shock as the car burst into flames and exploded, leaving them uncertain about what to do next.
This marked the end of Wickersham’s role as Rhiannon in the series, having appeared in just four episodes.
