Bridget Moynahan Hints at Blue Bloods Cast Reunion After Series Cancellation!!!
Bridget Moynahan has hinted at the possibility of a Blue Bloods reunion. Following CBS’s decision to cancel the beloved series, the actress opened up in an interview with TVLine Spotlight, revealing that the cast would be eager to come together on-screen again.
“Yeah, why not?” Bridget, 53, said when asked about a potential reunion, adding with a laugh, “But we can’t wait too many years!”
Moynahan has often spoken about the close-knit bond she shares with her co-stars, and they’ve collectively voiced their disappointment over the show’s cancellation in November 2023. During the interview, she reflected on CBS’s decision to end the long-running drama. “I don’t quite understand it… but it is what it is,” she shared.
The actress questioned the reasoning behind the cancellation, pointing to the show’s strong performance. “We have incredible ratings and a loyal fanbase that would take the time to sit down on a Friday night to watch, or catch up over the weekend,” she said. “There’s also a younger generation discovering the show, appreciating not just the great storytelling, but the strong values—something that’s hard to find in television today.”
This isn’t the first time Moynahan has expressed her feelings about the show’s bittersweet conclusion. In October, she appeared on Sherri Shepherd’s talk show, where she passionately declared, “I want my job back!” Reflecting on the series, she said, “It was a good run. Fourteen years with a group of people—we were a family on and off the screen.” She added that she continues to stay in touch with her co-stars.
“Vanessa [Ray], Donnie [Wahlberg], and I still get together,” she said. “We’re celebrating birthdays and having fun. I miss them daily.” Moynahan shares an especially close bond with her on-screen brother, Donnie Wahlberg, a connection that began long before Blue Bloods.
The two had worked together on the pilot of a different show before starting Blue Bloods in 2010. Wahlberg recalled their instant chemistry during an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, saying, “When I read Blue Bloods for the first time, I thought, ‘Oh my God, Bridget has to play my sister.’” Though that earlier pilot never moved forward, Wahlberg got his wish when the pair reunited for the CBS drama.
Over the years, Moynahan has played a pivotal role in Wahlberg’s personal life as well. She even helped him connect with his now-wife, Jenny McCarthy. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Moynahan reminisced, joking, “I knew you two already had this super hot flirtation, but I told her, as my mom would say, ‘He’s a good doobie.’”
Wahlberg credited Moynahan for putting in a good word during the early stages of his relationship with McCarthy. “Thankfully, Bridget said nice things,” he said with a smile.
While the future of Blue Bloods remains uncertain, one thing is clear: the cast’s deep bond and love for the show live on, giving fans hope for a reunion down the road.
