Michael Weatherly, known for his roles in NCIS and Bull, is grieving the loss of his younger brother, Will Weatherly. Michael shared the sad news on Twitter, revealing that Will passed away on April 20, 2023. In his heartfelt post, he wrote, “My younger brother Will Weatherly shed his mortal coil on April 20th, 2023 and now continues his journey through the universe. He always liked to travel. As difficult as it is [to] say goodbye — for friends and family — we know there is a smile with his memory. Rest in peace, brother.”

Although Michael has not shared the cause of his brother’s passing, the message has resonated with fans and friends alike. Many of his former co-stars, including NCIS alum Tess Rutherford, offered their condolences. Tess tweeted, “Michael, you always had his back. RIP little brother. 🙏🏾 Hope you’re dancing with the angels now… pain-free. ❤️.”

Rumors of Michael Weatherly’s Return to NCIS

Amid the mourning, rumors have surfaced that Michael Weatherly may be in talks to return to NCIS, after his departure from the show in 2016. According to a report from RadarOnline, the actor is negotiating a potential return but has made several demands that have left the network uncertain.

One of his requests is to bring along Cote de Pablo, who portrayed Ziva David, his on-screen love interest, as part of his comeback deal. Additionally, he reportedly wants Robert Wagner, who played his character’s father, to return as well.

A source told the outlet, “Michael loves to stir things up and get fans excited about his comeback, but he’s doing himself no favors by being so demanding. The bosses are tearing their hair out over his terms.”

With the ongoing writers’ strike, however, the possibility of Weatherly’s return to the NCIS universe remains uncertain.
