NCIS Season 22: Explosive First Look at Production, Jaw-Dropping Surprises You Won’t Believe!

The hit procedural NCIS is set to return for its 22nd season in the 2024-2025 TV lineup, following its April renewal alongside CBS’s comedy The Neighborhood. Even after more than two decades, NCIS remains a fan favorite, with three spinoffs (New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Hawai’i) having already concluded, and exciting new projects on the horizon, including NCIS: Sydney, NCIS: Origins, and a highly anticipated Tony & Ziva series starring Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo.

Season 21 Recap: Where the Story Left Off The 21st season ended with a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) at a pivotal moment in her career. She was offered the role of Chief REACT Training Officer, a position that would take her away from the NCIS team and her boyfriend, Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen). Jimmy, in turn, had an emotional breakdown after discovering the truth. Meanwhile, Parker (Gary Cole) experienced a flash of memory involving a young girl named Lily, though he later denied knowing her.

Is Katrina Law Leaving? Katrina Law’s future on NCIS is uncertain. While she has expressed optimism about returning, her character is clearly at a crossroads. Law hinted that although Knight might accept the new job, there are several potential reasons for her to stay in D.C., such as her love for the team or Jimmy, or even a new opportunity within NCIS.

What to Expect in Season 22 There is currently no official word on specific storylines for Season 22. However, the Season 21 finale did not suggest the exit of major cast members like Gary Cole (Parker), Sean Murray (McGee), Wilmer Valderrama (Torres), Brian Dietzen (Palmer), Rocky Carroll (Vance), or Diona Reasonover (Kasie).

Has Filming Started? Yes! Brian Dietzen (Dr. Jimmy Palmer) confirmed that filming began in July, posting a photo of his character’s signature glasses on social media, signaling the start of production for Season 22.

When Does NCIS Season 22 Premiere? NCIS returns for its 22nd season on Monday, October 14, at 8/7c. It will air an hour earlier than usual to accommodate the two-hour premiere of NCIS: Origins. Beginning October 21, NCIS will move back to its regular time slot at 9/8c, with Origins following at 10/9c.
