Bridget Moynahan Tearfully Opens Up About Emotional Last Day with Tom Selleck After Shocking Blue Bloods Cancellation!

It’s a bittersweet moment for Blue Bloods fans and cast members alike as the long-running police procedural reaches its conclusion after 14 seasons. The final season is set to premiere on October 18, and Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin Reagan, is reflecting on the emotional end of an era.

In an interview with People, Bridget shared her feelings about the show’s cancellation, saying, “I think we’re all a little disappointed. We’ve had such a good time. We all want to be there. It’s a real loss.” She emphasized the deep bond among the cast and crew, noting, “This was our daily lives for 14 years. We’ve all experienced major life moments together, whether it’s births, deaths, marriages, divorces, illnesses — we’ve had it all together.”

One of Bridget’s most poignant memories from the final days on set involved a touching moment with Tom Selleck, who plays her on-screen father, Frank Reagan. Despite having already wrapped his final scene, Tom returned to set to support Bridget and Donnie Wahlberg (who plays her brother, Danny Reagan) as they filmed their last scene together.

“We were behind a monitor — I’m getting choked up as I say this — and I had my arm around Tom, and he was holding my hands the way my dad did,” she recalled. “We were just so thankful, and he was so gracious. From day one, it was, ‘Nice to meet you. We are family.’”

The moment was filled with “love and appreciation and respect without ever having to say it,” she added. “It was really emotional watching our brother, son, teammate, and such a voice and face of the show finish his last scene.”

A crucial element of the show was its family dinners

Reflecting on the final days of filming, Bridget shared how it was filled with “a lot of lasts, a lot of hugs, and a lot of tears.” Many of the cast and crew had been with the show since the beginning, which made the farewell even more touching. “It was quite beautiful,” she said.

Bridget also expressed her gratitude to the show’s loyal viewers, especially the law enforcement community, saying, “I have such gratitude for supporting us, cheering us on, for tuning in every Friday night, for caring about the stories and characters, and particularly all the men and women in law enforcement who put their lives on the line for us.”

Bridget and Donnie starred as Tom’s children

The final episodes of Blue Bloods are part of a two-part finale, with the series concluding in early December, marking the end of a beloved chapter in TV history.
