EXCLUSIVE: Gerald McRaney Promoted to Series Regular on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ for Season 13
Gerald McRaney, who has been a recurring cast member on “NCIS: Los Angeles” since 2014, has been elevated to a series regular for the upcoming 13th season of the CBS drama. McRaney portrays retired Admiral Hollis Kilbride, providing guidance and counsel to the Los Angeles division of the NCIS Special Projects unit during their undercover missions.
Executive producer R. Scott Gemmill expressed excitement about McRaney’s increased role, stating, “When you have an actor of Gerald McRaney’s caliber, you do everything you can to make sure you get him as often as possible. Admiral Kilbride has been an esteemed part of our universe for seven years now, and we look forward to viewers seeing him come in and shake up our NCIS: LA world.”
“NCIS: LA” explores the high-stakes operations of a division tasked with apprehending dangerous criminals who pose threats to national security. McRaney’s promotion comes after the departure of long-time series regulars Renée Felice Smith, who played Intelligence agent Nell Jones, and Barrett Foa, who portrayed tech consultant Eric Beale.
The show’s main cast includes Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Linda Hunt, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Medalion Rahimi, and Caleb Castille. Executive producers include Gemmill, John P. Kousakis, Frank Military, and Kyle Harimoto, with CBS Studios producing the series.
McRaney is an Emmy winner for his guest role as Dr. Nathan Katowski on NBC’s “This Is Us” and is also recognized for his roles in “Deadwood” as the villain George Hearst and “Simon & Simon.” Most recently, he starred as Eugene Monreaux in the Fox series “Filthy Rich.” He is represented by Artists & Representatives.
