Currently, you can watch several seasons of NCIS on Netflix, while other seasons are exclusive to Paramount+. However, starting tomorrow, Saturday, June 29, NCIS Seasons 1 to 11 will no longer be available on Netflix.
Changes in Streaming Availability
This change is disappointing for fans enjoying the early years of Gibbs and his team on Netflix. The departure of these seasons aligns with CBS’s strategy to centralize its content on Paramount+. To continue watching from the beginning, you’ll need to switch to Paramount+, which also hosts other NCIS shows.
New Additions to Netflix
Although 11 seasons are leaving, there is some good news: NCIS Seasons 16 and 17 will be available on Netflix starting Sunday, June 30.
- Season 16 begins a month after Director Vance goes missing, with Gibbs reluctantly stepping in as Acting Director of NCIS. The team is determined to find their director, and the season finale involves Fornell seeking Gibbs’s help when his daughter overdoses on opiates, setting up a significant storyline for Fornell in later seasons.
- Season 17 marks the return of Ziva, who was presumed dead. She comes back to aid Gibbs, which eventually leads to Bishop’s departure from the series in the following season. This season, filmed during the pandemic, ends abruptly after 20 episodes due to the unexpected production halt.
While fans may be saddened by the removal of earlier seasons from Netflix, the addition of Seasons 16 and 17 offers a fresh opportunity to catch up on more recent storylines. For a comprehensive NCIS experience, Paramount+ remains the go-to streaming platform.
