NCIS Just Ended the Easiest Way for Pauley Perrette’s Return as Abby!

A new update has just eliminated the easiest and arguably the best way for Pauley Perrette’s Abby Sciuto to return to the NCIS franchise. CBS’s TV universe isn’t new to character departures, especially within the Major Case Response Team, which has seen numerous exits, leaving NCIS season 21 without any original members. However, comebacks are also a familiar occurrence, with many characters finding their way back for various reasons. Even two years after Mark Harmon’s exit, there are still talks about Leroy Jethro Gibbs’s potential return to Navy Yard.

CBS has already brought back key members of what is widely known as Gibbs’s best NCIS team. Ziva David reunited with Gibbs for a mini-arc in season 17, while Tony DiNozzo returned for Ducky Mallard’s special tribute episode in season 21. However, one character who has yet to make her comeback is Abby. The original forensic scientist and computer genius hasn’t rejoined her old co-workers since leaving the agency in season 15. Recently, the path for Abby’s NCIS return seemed clear, but now, a new update has just closed that door.
