NCIS fans fume over ‘ridiculous’ characters as they flock to watch rival show!!!!
NCIS fans have shared their disappointment with the show after it introduced “inauthentic” characters.
The popular TV drama has been on air for more than 20 years and it’s changed a lot in that time. Fans have said goodbye to beloved characters such as Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard (played by David McCallum), while being introduced to new characters including Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover).
While many have welcomed the changes, others have been left furious and have vowed to stop watching the show. Instead, many are turning to the spinoff show NCIS: Origins.
Taking to Reddit, one viewer shared a post titled “Ridiculous” as they fumed, “I just started watching NCIS again after a few years away. (When that wacky looking black chick came on). How the hell did it get so stupid ??? Stupid conversations, costumes, etc. I only started because ORIGINS started. Origins= good. Original = stupid. And that is all I have to say about that.”
One person sympathized, “Maybe people don’t like Casey as much because she’s trying too hard to be like Abby. Also some people don’t like change or if a character doesn’t feel authentic (too forced) they don’t warm to it. A lot of years went by and the original actors got a little burnt out with the role or just wanted to go live life. You could understand why some of them would want a different role or want to retire/etc. Trying to remake it or replace people is hard.”
Another said, “I HATE Parker, he’ll always be fake Gibbs to me. They should have just made McGee team lead. He was there forever.” The original poster replied, “Great idea.”
However, others defended the new characters. One person commented, “Why bother watching it if you don’t like Casey?”
With fans rushing to watch NCIS: Origins instead of the original show, many will be delighted with the news the spinoff has received a full season order at CBS alongside the comedy Poppa’s House.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, told Variety: “These shows fit seamlessly into our Monday night lineup while resonating with viewers on CBS and Paramount+.”
