RIPđź’”Little Angels: School Bus Explosion Kills 25 Students in Tragic Fire!!!!
A heartbreaking tragedy struck Thailand on October 1, 2024, when a school bus carrying students and teachers was engulfed in flames after crashing into a concrete highway barrier. The devastating fire is believed to have claimed the lives of at least 25 people, most of them children between the ages of nine and ten. The bus, returning from a school field trip, had 45 passengers on board, including six teachers. Rescuers recovered 23 bodies from the wreckage, while 16 others were rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.
A Routine Field Trip Turns into a Disaster The bus was traveling from Uthai Thani province to Pathum Thani, just north of Bangkok. As the double-decker vehicle sped along the highway, a front tire reportedly blew out, causing it to slam into a concrete barrier. Powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), the bus quickly ignited. Witnesses described the rapid spread of the fire, which trapped many passengers inside, turning a routine school outing into a nightmare.
Rescue Teams Arrive Too Late as School Bus Fire Claims Lives
When rescue teams arrived at the scene, they found the school bus completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters fought desperately to control the blaze, but for many on board, it was tragically too late. The charred remains of 23 passengers, most of them children, were later recovered from the wreckage. “It all happened so fast,” one witness recalled, “There was no time to escape.”
A Devastated Community in Mourning The local community has been left shattered by the loss. Heartbroken parents, some of whom rushed to the scene, watched in disbelief as the bodies of their children were pulled from the burned-out bus. One grieving mother, through tears, struggled to find words: “I sent my child to school this morning, and now they’re gone.”
School officials are also grappling with the tragedy. The head of the school, visibly shaken, spoke to the media: “This is an unimaginable loss. We never thought something like this could happen.”
Safety Concerns and Investigation Underway Thai authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Transport Minister Suriyahe Juangroongruangkit has called for an immediate ban on buses using compressed natural gas (CNG), citing the fuel’s “extreme risk.” Many are now questioning why vehicles with such explosive potential were allowed to transport schoolchildren, demanding stricter safety regulations moving forward.
