NCIS Season 22 Teases ‘World War III’ – The Shocking Truth Behind What’s Really Coming!
Spoilers ahead for NCIS Season 22
Are you ready for some intense drama? That’s the question NCIS executive producer Steven D. Binder seems to be asking as Season 22 kicks off. Since Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) accepted the job offer from Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) to work on the West Coast during the Season 21 finale, things have certainly shifted — and it appears her relationship with Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) has taken a hit. However, the couple is set for a major clash during an international incident that Binder likens to the dawn of World War III.
“NCIS is dealing with something seemingly minor, but it has the potential to spiral into something much bigger, and we’re trying to prevent that. They’ve got 42 minutes. It’s almost a real-time episode,” Binder told TV Insider.
The situation is triggered by a failed hostage negotiation that Knight is responsible for, bringing her back into contact with both the team and Jimmy for the first time in a month. But don’t panic — the world isn’t on the brink of nuclear disaster, thanks to forensic scientist Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover), according to Binder. Episode 1’s press release hints that the incident revolves around a missing agent working undercover. While global catastrophe may be averted, the personal stakes for Jimmy and Jessica’s relationship remain high.
Jimmy Palmer’s Single Life
While Jessica has been busy in California, Jimmy has been enjoying the single life, and the two have officially broken up. “They’ve settled into a new normal of being apart. Jimmy is dating, and we’ll learn more about that. His single life will come up at a very inconvenient time,” Binder revealed. At least fans can rest assured that Jessica Knight is returning for Season 22, as many NCIS followers predicted.
Though things seem rocky, Binder promises that Jimmy and Jessica will have an important three-part conversation throughout the season opener. This will build on their Season 21 finale discussion that ultimately sent Jessica to Camp Pendleton. Not only will millions of lives hang in the balance during the crisis, but the future of their relationship will also be decided. Will they remain friends, rekindle their romance, or part as enemies? Fans will get their answers when Season 22 of NCIS premieres on October 14.
