OMG! First Look at the Explosive NCIS Prequel Trailer – You Won’t Believe What’s Coming!
The upcoming NCIS spin-off, NCIS: Origins, has just released its first teaser, offering a glimpse into the early days of former protagonist Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
The teaser revisits Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) exit from the main series, with a voiceover declaring, “We know how his story ended. Now see how it all began.”
NCIS: Origins is set during Gibbs’ time at Camp Pendleton, featuring younger versions of familiar NCIS characters. Austin Stowell will portray a young Gibbs, while Mariel Molino and Kyle Schmid take on the roles of Lala Dominguez and Mike Franks, respectively.
Diany Rodriguez joins the cast as a young Vera Strickland, a character originally played by Roma Maffia in the NCIS season 11 episode “Under the Radar.” Additionally, Tyla Abercrumbie will play Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo, described as “a product of her time and the lifeblood of the Camp Pendleton office.”
Last month, Longmire star Robert Taylor was announced as part of the cast, taking on the role of Jackson Gibbs, the “hard-nosed father of future NCIS team leader Jethro.”
Fans of Mark Harmon will be pleased to know that while he won’t be appearing on screen, Harmon will return as the narrator for NCIS: Origins, guiding viewers through the prequel.
While NCIS: Origins is gearing up for its debut, another NCIS series is seeing its end. CBS recently announced the cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i after just three seasons. The show, led by Vanessa Lachey as Special Agent-in-Charge Jane Tennant, will not be returning for a fourth season.
Lachey expressed feeling “blindsided” by the cancellation, and fellow cast member Tori Anderson, who plays Agent Kate Whistler, described the show’s end as “a huge loss for representation.”
