NCIS: Hawai’i Canceled After Three Seasons, Leaves Fans Hanging**

CBS has officially canceled NCIS: Hawai’i after just three seasons, with the final episode set to air on May 6. Originally not intended to be the series finale, the abrupt end will likely leave fans with unresolved cliffhangers and conflicts.

Moderate viewing figures are reportedly behind the decision to end the show, which followed Special Agent Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) and her team at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Notably, NCIS: Hawai’i was the first in the franchise to feature a female lead.

“It’s an honor to add to this incredible franchise, and being the first female lead has meant more to me than I can ever express. It shows the incredible evolution and longevity that NCIS continues to give its fans,” Lachey said recently. She emphasized the show’s role in bringing people together for comfort and entertainment.

Despite the cancellation, there’s still plenty of NCIS content to look forward to. Brian Dietzen, who plays Jimmy Palmer in the original NCIS, hinted that the upcoming season finale will be particularly memorable. “As per usual with NCIS, it’s gonna leave a lot of people with their mouths wide open after the credits start to roll,” Dietzen said. “I think everyone’s pretty damn proud of what we put together. It’s only a 10-episode season, right? It just kind of feels like each of our writers kind of only gets one at-bat, and they’re really swinging for the fences, and they are not disappointing.”

NCIS airs on CBS in the US, and Seasons 1-20 are available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
