Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly bring Ziva and Tony back for new ‘NCIS’ spinoff

Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly Reunite for New ‘NCIS’ Spinoff**

Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly are set to return to the “NCIS” family, reprising their beloved roles as Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo for a new spinoff series on Paramount+, the streaming service announced Wednesday.

The show, yet to be titled, will begin production later this year and will feature the couple’s daughter, Tali. De Pablo and Weatherly will also serve as executive producers alongside John McNamara, who wrote the pilot episode.

The series picks up with Tony and Ziva raising Tali. When Tony’s security company is attacked, the family goes on the run across Europe to uncover who is chasing them and to secure their unconventional happily ever after.

“We’ve been talking about this story for many years,” Weatherly and de Pablo said in a joint statement. “The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears, and laughter.”

They also expressed gratitude to fans for their ongoing support: “To this day, they say hello in grocery stores and on the street to tell us how much these characters mean to them and ask what Tony and Ziva are up to now. This is for you!”

Cote de Pablo, a fan favorite, left “NCIS” in 2013 after playing Ziva, a former Mossad spy, for eight seasons. She returned for guest appearances in 2019, citing issues with how her character was treated for her initial departure. Michael Weatherly left “NCIS” in 2016 after 13 seasons to star in CBS’s “Bull.” In his final season, his character learned of Ziva’s supposed death and discovered their daughter, Tali. It was later revealed that Ziva was alive and in hiding in Europe.

Weatherly recently made a surprise appearance on the February 20 “NCIS” tribute to David McCallum, who played Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard.
