LL Cool J’s Exciting New Project Unveiled After NCIS: Hawai’i Cancellation!

After the NCIS: Hawai’i season three finale aired on Monday, fans saw LL Cool J’s Special Agent Sam Hanna for the last time on the spin-off drama, which CBS has canceled. LL Cool J had joined the Hawai’i-set show as a recurring guest star following the cancellation of NCIS: Los Angeles last year.

Although he won’t be reprising his role anytime soon, fans can look forward to his return to the stage. This summer, the 56-year-old will perform in Rockefeller Plaza as part of Today’s 2024 Citi Concert Series. The 13-date series begins on May 24 with Wallows and concludes on September 27 with Chris Stapleton. Other performers include Meghan Trainor, Chance the Rapper, and Bleachers. LL Cool J’s performance date is yet to be announced.

The cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i was announced in April after CBS renewed NCIS and its new spin-off NCIS: Sydney. CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach explained that the tough decision was made to keep the schedule fresh and financially viable.

LL Cool J quickly became a popular member of the NCIS: Hawai’i ensemble. Co-stars Jason Antoon and Seana Kofoed revealed that LL was excited to join the show after visiting Hawai’i for a crossover event in 2023 and enjoying the ambiance and cast. Jason remarked on LL’s cool, distinct presence, while Seana praised his lively energy and talent.
