Heartbreaking News: Mark Harmon Reveals Shocking NCIS Spinoff Update!

CBS has confirmed the renewal of “NCIS” for Season 22, along with other popular shows such as “The Neighborhood.” CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach stated, “The Neighborhood and NCIS are the very best definition of CBS comedy and drama. They embody authentic storytelling with heart, humor, and family dynamics. We are proud to bring them back next season.”

This announcement follows CBS’s recent renewal of the FBI franchise, including a three-season renewal for “FBI” and single-season renewals for its spin-offs, “FBI: International” and “FBI: Most Wanted.” Additionally, CBS has renewed the Australian NCIS spin-off, “NCIS: Sydney,” as well as “Fire Country,” “Ghosts,” and “Tracker.”

However, some CBS shows are set to end this season, including “Young Sheldon,” “SWAT,” and “Bob Hearts Abishola.” Notably, “NCIS: Hawai’i” remains on the bubble. Currently in its third season, its fate is uncertain, joining other shows like “CSI: Vegas,” “The Equalizer,” “So Help Me Todd,” and “Elisabeth.”

In the world of NCIS spin-offs, several new projects are in the works. “NCIS: Origins,” a prequel series, will explore a younger version of Mark Harmon’s character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Austin Stowell will play the younger Gibbs, while Harmon will narrate and executive produce the series. Additionally, a new spin-off is being developed for Paramount+ featuring Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo reprising their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David. This spin-off will reportedly be set in Europe, although its official title has not yet been announced.
