NCIS star Michael Weatherly has shared an exciting update about his upcoming spin-off series with Cote de Pablo.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Weatherly and de Pablo, known for their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David on the flagship series, would reunite for a 10-episode spin-off set in Europe.

Weatherly recently revealed to TVLine that filming is scheduled to begin in Budapest later this year. He confirmed that the series, currently untitled, will follow Tony and Ziva as they navigate raising their tween daughter Tali while facing global threats. “What could go wrong!” Weatherly quipped.

According to the show’s synopsis, Tony’s security firm is attacked, forcing the family to flee across Europe. The series will explore their journey to rebuild trust and achieve their unconventional happily ever after, all while uncovering the truth behind the attack.

Weatherly and de Pablo will serve as executive producers alongside Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain, and Shelley Meals, with John McNamara as the showrunner.

“We’ve been discussing this story for years, and with John McNamara leading the way, we’re ready,” Weatherly and de Pablo commented on the series’ announcement earlier this year. “The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be a thrilling ride filled with love, danger, tears, and laughter.”

McNamara added, “Given the global appeal of the franchise, I’m thrilled that CBS Studios and Paramount+ have greenlit filming in Europe. As for the title of the series, if I told you, I’d be breaking the Espionage Act.”
