NCIS: Hawai’i Cancellation Baffles Fans as CBS Revives New Procedural Show!
NCIS: Hawai’i’s Cancellation Sparks Major Backlash Against CBS
The cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i has already caused a significant backlash against CBS. The decision is even more confusing given the network’s plans for new series development. Once the flagship NCIS series was established, CBS successfully expanded the franchise with several spinoffs, many of which have built solid fan bases. NCIS: Hawai’i, the newest stateside offshoot, debuted in 2021. Despite only having three years on air, including a shortened final season, it has garnered a loyal and committed following.
I must admit, I boarded the NCIS: Hawai’i train late, only starting to watch the spinoff after hearing great things about it. However, I have closely followed the uproar that CBS has faced since the cancellation. For context, the network also canceled So Help Me Todd and CSI: Las Vegas. While these cancellations have also sparked backlash, nothing compares to the criticism CBS has received for ending the NCIS spinoff.
