With the dramatic conclusion of NCIS Season 21, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the team. Fortunately, the wait won’t be long, as NCIS Season 22 is set to premiere in fall 2024.
CBS Confirms a Fall 2024 Premiere for NCIS Season 22
NCIS Season 22 will debut this fall, as confirmed during CBS’s May Upfronts on May 2. The show will continue to air in its Monday 9/8c timeslot, maintaining its strong performance on the network despite a slight dip in ratings after the move to Monday nights.
Following NCIS, the new spin-off NCIS: Origins, focusing on a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, will air. Unfortunately, NCIS: Hawai’i remains canceled.
Will the Series Really Premiere in Fall 2024?
Last year, the premiere dates were delayed until February due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which halted writing and production over the summer. However, with contracts now in place, production for NCIS Season 22 is expected to start in July, adhering to the usual schedule.
Fans can anticipate a mid-to-late September premiere date for the new season, typically shortly after the 20th of the month.
