NCIS Season 21 presents a more suitable opportunity for a reunion than Season 20.
Despite hopes for the return of some departed original cast members in NCIS’ 20th season, no legacy characters resurfaced. It remains uncertain whether efforts were made to bring any of them back, but given the circumstances, it felt like an ideal moment for a reunion.
Looking ahead, NCIS Season 21 offers two compelling options. Firstly, given their enduring friendship, Gibbs should be included in the tribute to Ducky. Secondly, as the NCIS universe marks its 1000th episode, involving the franchise’s creators in the storyline seems fitting.
While CBS’s plans for this significant milestone remain unclear, envisioning McGee and his team recruiting some original members for a case could serve as a fantastic homage to the past while also preparing the franchise for the future.
With these possibilities in mind, it’s difficult to justify not reuniting the original cast in the upcoming season.
