Mark Harmon Not Ruling Out NCIS Return – But There’s a Catch! Discover the 1 Condition!

Mark Harmon discusses the potential return of his character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, in future NCIS seasons, expressing openness to reprising the role.

Harmon, who left the show in 2021 after 19 seasons, indicates that the door is still open for a possible return, with one condition. Gibbs walked away from his position, leaving the possibility of a comeback.

In an interview with ET Online, Harmon expresses interest in returning but mentions being unaware of any plans to bring Gibbs back. He humorously speculates, “He’s probably fishing in a stream up in Alaska. Is he going to make it out of the river? I’m not sure. But if he is, I’m not aware of it.”

As NCIS Season 20 concluded without the anticipated cameos from characters like Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo, fans remain hopeful for their return in Season 21.

Following the passing of David McCallum, who played Dr. Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard, an original cast member since 2003, Gibbs’ return takes on added significance. A tribute episode for Ducky in Season 21 could include Gibbs, even briefly, allowing him to pay respects to his old friend and honor McCallum’s legacy.
