Emily Wickersham concluded her seven-season run as Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop on NCIS with her departure at the end of season 18. The official reason for her exit wasn’t initially disclosed, leaving fans curious. However, in a subsequent Instagram post, Wickersham revealed her pregnancy, suggesting that personal considerations played a role in her decision to leave the show.

Fans bid farewell to Bishop’s character in the season finale, titled “Rule 91,” where it was disclosed that Bishop had leaked a confidential NSA file. This revelation set the stage for her dismissal from NCIS. The storyline, orchestrated by ex-CIA instructor Odette Malone, paved the way for an undercover mission, hinting at the possibility of Bishop’s return in the future.

Wickersham’s departure from NCIS was part of a series of significant exits, including Mark Harmon, who portrayed Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, and Maria Bello, who portrayed Forensic Psychologist Jack Sloane.
