Did NCIS LA Star Renée Felice Smith Pay Tribute to Eric Olsen with a Post That Brought ‘Real Tears’?

Renée Felice Smith, known for her role as Nell Jones in “NCIS: Los Angeles,” recently shared a heartfelt tribute to her former co-star Eric Christian Olsen. This tribute comes in the wake of the show’s cancellation earlier this year.

Nell Jones and Marty Deeks, portrayed by Renée Felice Smith and Eric Christian Olsen, shared a touching storyline throughout the series. They initially appeared on the long-running CBS drama, with Smith joining in season two and Olsen in season one. Their characters worked closely at the Office of Special Projects (OSP), and Nell eventually succeeded Hetty Lange’s role as Operations Manager.

In season 12, Nell decided to leave her role to pursue new opportunities in Tokyo with Eric Beale, played by Barrett Foa. Their farewell scene in the season 12 finale left fans heartbroken and reflective.

A fan shared screenshots of one of Nell and Deeks’ final scenes on Instagram stories, where Deeks expressed that he would miss their time together, to which Nell replied, “We did great work.” Deeks encouraged Nell to keep making him proud, and she responded with, “You make us proud, Deeks, every day.”

Renée Felice Smith was moved by the fan’s collage and reposted it on her Instagram, tagging Eric Christian Olsen. She captioned it with “Real tears” and two heart emojis. Olsen, in response, shared Smith’s post on his story, adding, “Miss this. Miss her.”

In the series finale, Nell made a surprise return after Callen and Anna Kolcheck got married. Hetty, who couldn’t attend the celebration, sent two tickets to Morocco with a letter hinting that she was in trouble. Callen and Sam Hanna went to Morocco and found Nell, who had organized a team to help rescue Hetty.

The season ended with Callen, Sam, and Nell preparing to hunt down Hetty. While the other agents’ storylines reached satisfying conclusions, the finale hinted at a potential spin-off with Nell leading the mission. This has sparked intrigue and anticipation among fans.
